Art has always been my way of making sense of the world. Whether I’m painting late at night or capturing a quiet moment through my camera lens, I create to feel grounded, present, and connected. My work is shaped by personal experiences, life’s unpredictability, and the inspiration I draw from my students. They constantly remind me why art matters.

Over time, my focus has shifted from portraiture to landscapes and animals. These subjects speak to resilience, solitude, and peace. During the pandemic, themes of isolation and hope emerged in my art. One example is my painting of a humpback whale gliding through sunlight in the open ocean. More recently, I’ve been drawn to creating a sense of calm in my work, both as a reflection of and a remedy for the chaos of everyday life.

As an oil painter, I’m captivated by the depth and richness the medium allows. I also find joy in sharing the stories behind each piece, whether in a local gallery or someday in a cozy studio or by the beach, connecting with people from all walks of life. Art, to me, is more than something to look at. It is a conversation, a way to heal, and a chance to make life just a little more beautiful.
